Be Vigilant this season with Festive Crime
Motorists are warned this Christmas period to be extra cautious due to the increase in car crime at this time of year.
Airedale and Bradford police have warned that the amount of car crime over the holidays often increases as the darker nights allows thieves to perform the crime more easily and get away undetected. Motorists are reminded to secure their vehicles when left unattended and parked in a garage where possible.
When Christmas shopping it is always tempting to leave your presents in the unoccupied vehicle, but if you must do so, please put them out of sight as not to tempt criminals.
PC Dave Bale from the Airedale and North Bradford Crime Reduction Unit had this to say “It only takes a few seconds to take personal valuables from your car when you leave it unattended, and by doing so you reduce the risk of becoming a victim of car crime.”
