Check Your Tyres and Avoid a Car Insurance Claim this Winter!
Tyresafe are urging drivers to check the tread on their tyres with a harsh winter approaching. Having ‘cold weather tyres’ fitted to your wheels will reduce the likelyhood of an accident on icy roads.
Most britons tend to use the same tyres during all seasons, which increases chances of an accident.
Compare.com have discovered that slippery or icy surfaces played a part in 55% of accidents where the condition of the road contributed. Chairman, Rob Beddis said “With temperatures frequently below 7 degrees celcuis in the UK during winter, particularly in rush hour, cold weather tyres can offer a significant decrease in the probability of an accident.”
Motorists, regardless of the type of tyres used were also urged to check the tread depth of their existing tyres to enure a safer winter this year!
