A leading car insurance company has released the results of a survey which shows that men are much more likely to drive whilst under the infuence of alcohol. In addition, when they compare car insurance they will feel the pinch and pay a massive increase in their premium.
While this is not shocking news, it confirms what many other surveys have portrayed in the past, this news could further effect the balance between the cost of male and female car insurance schemes in the future if insurers deem that this evidence is credible.
The car insurance provider which specialises in lady driver’s car insurance interviewed over 2500 motorists and discovered that one in every ten males would be happy to drive after drinking three to four units of alcohol. When compared to their female counterpart where only one in a hundred said they would be willing to drive after consuming the same amount, gives rise to a shocking difference between the sexes.
A survey by another leading UK insurer revealed that when a consumer gets around to compare car insurance, the quote can be increased by up to 82 per cent if the motorist has a previous conviction for a drink driving offense.
