It has been suggested that the number of people usin the web to compare car insurance quotes for new vehicles could increase as a result of the car scrappage scheme being introduced next month. As per the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the programme, which was announced in the budget should encourage the customers back into the showrooms up and down in the UK.
Drivers interested in taking the government up on this offer will need to have a vehicle that is over ten years old. Paul Everitt, SMMT chief executive, commented “The Scheme recognizes the economic value of the motor industry and we are determined to make it a success”.
Motorists who fall in this category and agree to have their autos scrapped will be offered £2,000 towards the purchase of the new car. Drivers who save money by taking part in this initiative could cut their costs even further by making sure they use the best car insurance comparison available.
