It has been claimed that the motorists who know they are going to need a European car insurance comparison should bear this in mind when they first buy their policy. According to the British Insurance Broker’s Association, people who plan to take their auto to France for a couple of weeks in summer will probably be looking at an additional charge.
It stated drivers should take this into consideration when weighing up what their overall costs are going to be. Technical and Corporate Affairs executive Graeme Trugdill said the motorists should be thinking “ok, if I know its going to cost fifty pounds extra if I go to France then I will bear that in mind when I compare car insurance quotes in the first instance”.
He added people should not make assumptions about what they will not be covered for- and urged them to check everything.
Motorists who are looking for a policy that includes European car insurance may also want to check whether comprehensive cover automatically changes to third party protection once they leave the UK.
