Young drivers more prone to accidents due to different reasons
Younger drivers have always been at more risk while driving. They learn driving and without sometimes being trained, they get the vehicles on the road. The situation is worsening and various researches have been done to know the reasons why young drivers fall victim to more accidents. According to a research done by insurance company Aviva, it has been proved that people in the age group 17-21 are being killed in road accidents because of reasons like lack of training, negligence in wearing seatbelts and peer pressure. These reasons have come as a shock to many parents and the research is being looked upon as important.
In the research that was conducted, it became clear that younger drivers drive their car differently if they have friends in their car. One third of the total people agreed to the fact and one in five agreed that they sometimes pay less attention to the road. Almost one fourth of the total people removed hands from the steering wheel. This research brings out the clear reasons that show that younger drivers are not aware of the rules. In a research that was conduced earlier, it was stated that only a few of the youngsters know that car insurance is legal and they do not compare car insurance to buy a suitable policy.
It was surprising to know that 9% of the youngsters said that they would not have given themselves the license when they were successful in passing the test for car driving. Most of the people still take just the paid lessons and do not do proper training to drive the car and this in turn becomes one of the most common reasons of accidents taking place. The insurance company Aviva thus informs the young drivers to improve the way they drive cars so that less accidents take place on the roads of UK.
