Drivers and distractions go together
While a person drives his car on the road, there are a number of things that distract him. To know more about these distractions, a survey was conducted by the insurance provider AA. The main aim to find out these factors was to know the potential reasons behind the accidents that take place. In some of the accidents, the drivers do not even have an insurance policy and hence they have to suffer due to the distractions. After the research, the fact that came out was that most of the UK drivers are distracted by the landscape views.
Around 75% people who were surveyed agreed to the fact that they were distracted from driving due to some beautiful scenery that came their way. These accidents can also sometimes result in accidents and this will in turn increase the insurance premium as well. Sometimes the insurance polices have some terms and conditions that do not provide coverage for accidents that took place due to such incidents. This is why people are advised to compare car insurance policies and go for the ones that have better coverage options.
The beautiful sceneries are not the only distracting factors that male drivers agreed to. Around 70% of the men agreed that they were distracted also by the opposite sex while driving through. In the case of female drivers, the figures dropped to just 25%. The insurance company AA advises that the people should instead practice pulling over and avoid accidents. The director of the company is of the view that there may be a number of distractions and some drivers manage driving at the same time. When the distraction is too much, it has to lead in collision and thus leading to an insurance claim. It is thus a wise decision to stop at a place to see the scenery or talk to a person rather than hitting an object or a person.
