AA insurance presents the drivers with measures that can be adopted to lower the risk of car thefts. The company undertook a survey that disclosed that more than fifty households in Whales and England have their vehicles stolen each day. The car keys in most of these thefts are stolen from the driver’s place.
While vehicle thefts have really fallen down as compared to last year that is 14% but the recent survey by the British Crime, there is 19% increase in the cars that is stolen following domestic burglary. Burglars generally take the keys to cars in driveway by finding them inside front door on handy tables and hooks, even without entering the house at times. They do it by fishing for the keys through letterbox.
Even the bolted front door is not a big problem for experienced burglars. AA insurance explains further on how once they have the keys; they make a quick exit from the house. Director of AA insurance explains that it almost impossible to steal the modern vehicles without obtaining keys. He added by saying though the total number of cars stolen has fallen, but there is an increased ingenuity, patience and determination witnessed among these thieves.
Car owners should become vigilant about car thefts as this is one of the reasons why car insurance prices are rising. Not only just compare car insurance but also take care of your car’s safety by keeping them locked in the garage. Keep the keys of your cars in your bedside table rather them hooking near the front door which is prone to thieves. Doors and windows of the cars should be locked properly at night and owners can also install safety devices like an alarm, tracker and immobiliser to ensure its safety. Just take care of all these above mentioned things and avoid getting your car stolen.
