Vehicles without Car Insurance on the rise on the Roads of UK
Recent statistics reveal that the number representing the car drivers, who do not have a proper car insurance policy covering them, is constantly increasing. Currently, the car insurance industry struggles with a 20% drop in the figures in the past four years. With the increase in the car insurance premiums, people in UK have resorted to slackness in getting proper insurance policies to keep their finances under control.
One of the leading car insurance providers brought out the values as 1.5 million car drivers who did not have a valid car insurance policy covering them in the year 2009. Although this value changed from 1.8 million drivers in the year 2005, the value is still considered as alarming for the insurance sector. UK sees on an average 160 deaths every year, with people killed due to the reckless driving.
The uninsured car drivers contributed to the increasing number of accidents and as well as mishaps and injuries. The reports also showed that the recklessness of the drivers along with the increasing number of accidents elated the insurance costs as much as €500 million for the insurance companies which simultaneously added to the insurance cost for the honest car drivers by an additional €30.

The records for the highest number of uninsured car drivers were maintained since 1997. Since the inception year and till the year 2009, the highest figures of drivers who were not insured were found in Barkerend region of Bradford. West Gorton scored the second place while Small Heath, in the city of Birmingham was considered to have the third highest uninsured population. The report also revealed that Metropolitan area had an alarmingly high rate of uninsured vehicles as well with one in ten drivers not having their car insured at all.
The chief executive of the insurance company urged the citizens to compare car insurance to find a good option for themselves rather than not having insurance at all as car insurance is a legal liability, marring which may bring upon untold circumstances.
